When i originally got my internet set up with time warner cable, i chose to not get wireless.
Now I need the wireless connection and my router isnt capable of doing it. What is the cheapest way to upgrade it? Should i call time warner and have them send me another one or should i buy one on my own?

Keep the same modem and just get a Router for wireless and it will also help a bit with security by adding a firewall.
I like the Netgear RangeMax line, you can pick one that fits what you need to use it for.

A separate Router and Modem are often easier to work with when there are issues and you will have more flexibility.

Do you pay TW an equipment rental fee? If so, the cheapest investment would be to ditch the overpriced rental equipment and buy your won Docsis 3.0 modem and a moderately priced WiFi Router. If you prefer to keep renting (or if TW doesn't charge) instead of laying about about $100 to replace the equipment, the follow abailey's advice and call TW. One advantage of renting is a degree of tech support offered by TW and the swap out for free if there is an equipment problem.
