Hey everyone, I was just asking for recommendations for an if possible intel based motherboard and processor for around £140. I would require this to be compatible with my gtx660ti. I was considering an fx8350 but after reading multiple bad reviews I thought not. Please correct me if this is not true. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!

P.S, Amd is an option, but I will be playing games varying in requirements: eg. From Call Of Duty World At War to DayZ (If possible with this budget).

Yes, you should definitely go for that CPU for £90. Any of the CPUs listed on this thread will give you easily over 60fps in those games.

Also, I took the liberty of unselecting the best answer since it wasn't chosen by you (the opening poster is the one who gets to choose).

If you want to OC, get AMD. If not, Intel is your best choice.

Thank you for the options, but would an fx8350 be any good if I can get one for £90? And also if I were to go for the listed intel, what FPS should I be expecting on which settings for Minecraft/World At War? Sorry for the large amount of questions, second hand is an option, hint hint ;)

The Pentium comes very close to the i3 in almost everything, meaning it is about equal with the 8350 for gaming, but will be better for Windows, Office, browsing, etc. than the AMD chips.

Also, keep in mind with the 8350 you're buying a CPU on a dead platform with no upgradeability. So you essentially can't get any better CPU performance without buying a new motherboard. With the Pentium/i3, you get equivalent performance now, and room to upgrade to a superior i5 or even i7.
