So I'm getting ready to order my build, and I'd like to know if I should expect the parts to take months to arrive. I've heard awful stories, online, of people waiting up to three months for a GPU or something. That's enough time for components that arrive early to actually collect dust.

What is a reasonable wait time for the entire build? I'd be using Newegg.ca a lot, but might try NCIX or Amazon. I don't know any of them very well.

More about : approximately long expect wait parts build

With Newegg I often get my packages earlier than the approximate date. I select two day shipping on Monday, it's shipped on Tuesday, and arrives Wednesday afternoon. The only time I've had trouble is once when Newegg was changing packaging locations and lost my order ticket which resulted in a one month delay, but they cancelled the order and I received it within the week. So you shouldn't have to wait any longer than the date they give to you when you order, I can't vouch for Amazon as I have countless with them, and I have never ordered from NCIX. I've also had good experiences with Tigerdirect.

When I order from Newegg, it typically takes 2-3 days for the parts to arrive. I am in the US though, not Canada, so your results could easily be different. Newegg has a warehouse on the other side of my state, and I have gotten some parts as quickly as the next day if I ordered in the morning and the parts came from that warehouse.
Things I've ordered from Newegg Marketplace Vendors have typically taken two-three weeks to arrive, if they were coming from China.

Damn! Everything? Even the case and monitor, if you order those?

So you didn't have to wait more than 1/4 of the delay, not bad, wow. I'll check those other two, NCIX has an unattractive website, but I shouldn't base decisions off of aesthetics.

Thank you for your time.

2-3 days is crazy quick! From Canada, it might take a couple weeks, especially since I'm far from the border at the moment. Even so, 3-4 weeks wouldn't be so bad either. I guess I'll have to send them an email to get an idea of what timeframe I might expect. Does Newegg have good customer service, with their RMAs?

From what my Canadian friends can tell me, they each have their own benefits. Newegg has excellent customer service and a pristine return service, but their shipping can be quite expensive. NCIX is good because they can price match any product in Canada. Tigerdirect can be nice as they have retail stores, not sure if that pertains to you. Also I've been told that Canada Computers is easy to work with because of their fast shipping and retail stores locations.
