Hi!

I was just wondering if the CPU cooler i got is suitable for Overclocking the i7-4770K,
since i'm don't know that much about Overclocking yet i still want to make sure i can overclock in the future so i don't have to buy a new CPU cooler.

CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo CPU
CPU - i7-4770K

Also how many GHz would be suitable to overclock the i7-4770K safely to? :)
Thanks for reading and i hope someone can help me out! ^.^

Solution
With the EVO, I would say 4.5GHz is a good OC. You can probably aim higher but it depends on how good your CPU is. They are not all created equally and because of that, some chips overclock better than others.

How do you know if you have a CPU that can be overclocked better than others?

Outside of testing its limits, you cannot tell. If it is your first time overclocking, you can look online for what numbers other people are getting and base off of it. Take your time, do NOT rush. Overclocking takes quite a bit of time on your first time through and still takes a lot of time for experienced overclockers. But when you're new, you're just a bit more confused as to what went wrong and what you should do so it wastes more of your time and you can easily get frustrated.

But really, outside of testing how good it is, there's no way to tell. You may have an awesome overclocking CPU but you may not know how to overclock it properly. That happens too. There's no easy way.
