RAM cut in half

If with "cut in half" you mean that the frequency that show the program isn't the correct for your RAM, well, let me tell you that CPU-Z is showing you at what based frequency (not dual channel) can your RAM run.

If you want to see the real frequency, change to Memory tab and multiply by 2 the frequency that you see there. Regarding the blue screen, I see that you mixed PYN and Supertalent, that could be the problem.

before the upgrade (the reason I got 8 more gb of ram was to counter this) it said 8gb and 3.9 usable6

Admirable
Did you use the two blue slots on the motherboard before anything else? asus recommends that you use the colored slots for the best possible performance. If you still have issues up your NB voltages by .1 and then .2 if that still doesn't work manually configure your memory by calling the manufacture of the ram to get the right information for it.

IDK about the RAM but it's 2 pairs of different RAM, one pair is PNY and the other is Supertalent

CPU is AMD FX 8350 4.0ghz 8 core

this is the second one of these boards in a thread tonight............ or are you the guy with the bad video card too?............. anyways the board is junk.

WAIT.............. different board.

don't see either ram list on support page but that shouldn't mean anything.............. give direct link to ram. both sets. and then let us know if the original problem was from original build. ( new )

I let it run overnight and it said 0 errors when I woke up

if you ran each set alone and it didn't work.............
and you bumped the voltage as suggested and it doesn't work..........
and you reset the cmos and it didn't work...........
and memtest came up empty...............
let's eliminate the ram for a minute..................................... GIVE COMPLETE SYSTEM SPECS............... DON'T FORGET POWER SUPPLY...........GIVE LINKS.

ALSO, THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE NEW?

Haven't tried it, and I wouldn't be able to test it because all of my games are on that hard drive and I have no room on my 1st, is it a serious possibility that the second HDD is causing it? Because it didn't start happening until I put the new RAM in
