Can't go past 4.4GHz on i5-4670k?

Hello all, just as the title states. I'm running an i5-4670k with a Corsair H100i water cooler. I had a (fairly) stable overclock at 4.4GHz and 1.245 volts. However, I cannot seem to get past 4.4GHz. Currently, I have 4.5GHz at 1.290 volts, LLC Level 2, and I can barely get into Windows. As soon as I start up OCCT, my entire computer freezes about 15 seconds into the stress. I was able to get a sucessful 5 run test on Intel Burn Test on Standard, but that seems to be it. I'm afraid I have one of the crappy Haswell cards to be honest. My temperatures max at 83 degrees on IBT, and that worries me also. So, what can I do to get to 4.5GHz? What's the maximum safe temperature and voltage I can get on my 4670k (thought it was 85 degrees and 1.3 volts)? Any and all help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You need to remember the rule about CPUs. No two are made equal. Just because Doofy's 4670K clocks to 4.6GHz, does not mean Goofy's 4670K can clock past 4.0GHz. There's a reason Intel says the Intel Core I5-4670K processor runs @ 3.4GHz. It's because every Intel Core I5-4670K can safely run at that speed. Not every Intel Core I5-4670K can run at 3.5GHz.

What can you do?
1) Live with what you got
2) Buy another CPU in the hope that it's of a better batch than the one you currently own.
3) Look into liquid nitrogen cooling. (j/k)

Alright, I guess I'll settle for 4.4GHz, which is still really good. Guess I lost my bet with my buddy to see who can clock higher lol. He must have a really good chip because he clocks at 4.2GHz on a Hyper 212 air cooler and his temps are right around 69 degrees. Thanks for the answer though

Same thing here. Its the chip. I regret buying a Kraken X60- it was overkill for this processor. 212 evo did it fine. Fortunately, I dig the aesthetics and do not like the look of air cooling whatsoever. Ticks my OCD off bad the way that that big bulky air cooler sits on a mother board hanging off.

Im at 4.2 ghz on stock volt - 1.2v. I couldnt even get 4.5 with doing 1.3volts+. No point in bothering any further and im going to just leave it at 4.2 stock volts.

His chip is average. My temps were 64-67 at 4.2GHZ with the hyper 212 evo. That cooler is a steal for $30. Seriously a steal. Now I dont break 56 on the kraken x60.

I was the same way, hated the look of air cooling and now my case looks so sweeeet with water cooling. As far as temps go I must just have crappy ventilation in mine then, I'll check the fans now.

I am on the exteme mode for the kraken, with two noctua nf-a14 140mm attached pulling air out the top of the case. Intake is 3x corsair SP fans- which are being sent back for noctuas (loud). Exhaust is 140mm Corsair Quiet Ed.

What are your temps?

At 4.4Ghz and High IBT with 10 runs, I've never gone above 81. Idle is right at 30 degrees

Well, I'm actually not running Prime95 lol. I'm running something called OCCT that stresses your memory. GPU, and CPU simultaneously. I'm also running IntelBurnTester (IBT) on Standard or High for 10 runs
