I have just recently bought an entry level Lenovo Essential G510 - Core i3 2.4GHz. 4GB, 500GB - laptop. I was wondering whether it is worth upgrading to Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB 1600MHz CL9 kit from its 1600MHz CL11 single 4GB module aside from the added capacity. Can anyone please convince me to reach a verdict on the upgrade?

As upgrading it, would mean a two times cost in comparison to adding another 4gb stick. As a side note, I am upgrading its HDD to SSD.

If you don't find the laptop unbearably slow, or if the installed 4GB of ram is enough for your current tasks then there is no need.
If you find loading time are unbearable, and you constantly use up all your RAM "space"; then yes in the long run it's better to upgrade the RAM.
But CL 11 RAM running at ???Mhz (if its 1600 or 1333, then the memory timings on that chip are pretty bad) you may want to upgrade.

Hope this helps!

I am going to turn off the page file to reduce the writes on the SSD.

Ok I thoroughly researched about it, seems it is somewhat necessary, as one can easily reduce the pagefile size, rather than completely remove it, with 8GB+ RAM and still have a SSD for a longtime. I'll do the cheaper upgrade sometime, if it ever crashes with low memory error. Thanks for the replies!
