Overclocking Core 2 Duo e6600 2.4 GHz ?

Hi Guys, I just wanted to know if its a good idea to overclock "Core 2 Duo e6600 2.4 GHz" to "2.6- 2.8" not too much cause overheating. I want to overclock because I want to have so 4+ or 5+ fps on games. How many fps will i increase if i overclock ?

a minor oc like that will not really increase fps much... maybe like 2 fps at most? your main issue is the fact that you have a dual core..... you need and upgrade buddy, you can probably find a quad66 on ebay for cheap, that is the best route for you if you want an improvement.

The only thing is that my motherboard only supports dual core cpu-s not quad.
So what if i OC to 3.0 ? 3.2 ? what are the results.

at around 3.2, you should be able to get 5-10 fps in a really cpu bound game, ive personally played skyrim with a c2 duo oc to 3.2, it was still cpu limited but big improvement
