I've got a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H (rev 1.1), which I'm trying to get working with an Intel i7-4790s CPU, but I don't have an older LGA1150 chip lying around to use to update the BIOS.
I've already incorrectly selected a CPU once (I picked the G1840, and solved nothing), so now I'm hoping someone can suggest a cheap CPU that fits the LGA1150 slot and will actually allow my motherboard to start, and isn't very expensive.
I live near the Vienna, VA Micro Center, so if you found one they carry, that'd be ideal.
Edit: Picked the solution that listed a CPU compatible with the F7 BIOS version, but this is not a great customer experience regarding the GA-Z87X-UD4H. I get that they shipped their motherboards before Intel came out with this new processor line, but consider the fact that there is literally NO Intel CPU I can buy from my local Micro Center which would work with this motherboard out of the box. *Literally* zero. Micro Center, if you do some looking, has 3 of these motherboards already marked with "open box" discounts, and it's likely for this exact reason.
I write all this down because I want folks to be *absolutely* sure they've either got a way to update their BIOS, or a CPU compatible with the BIOS that's going to come shipped on their motherboard, which is F7, as far as I can tell.
Anyway, thanks for the information folks.
