I tried installing an as rock pro 3 into a corsair carbide 400r. I got everything wired up correctly but when I tried to turn it on, nothing. I did some research and found out I forgot to install the standoffs. Is this the reason why it's not booting up and did I somehow damage my motherboard by trying to turn it on without the standoffs installed?

Thanks in advance

I doubt the motherboard I/O ports would have matched the I/O shield (if you used it) or even that you could screw the motherboard to the case without the standoffs... some motherboards component pins protrude under the board as or longer than the screws that bolt the board in,.. so I would like to know how you managed to install it without the standoffs?.

On the bright side, some people have installed their motherboards in a way that they ground to the case and they have not suffered damage. If the current goes to ground diminishing in voltage and wattage, it may not be strong enough to affect components, so I wouldn't so pesimistic.
