I just recently ran the recovery disk on my ASUS g75vw laptop and after the recovery was complete I am unable to access the internet. I tried through wifi, nothing. I tried through ethernet cable and I got nothing. My "other devices" tab under device manager shows my netowkr controller with a yellow exclamation mark. when I look at properties it says it has no drivers. Also under network adapters I only see Atheros AR8151 PCI-E gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). I am running windows 7 64bit home premium. I am at a loss on what to do if anyone could help me that'd be greatly appreciated.

Do you have access to another computer that can connect to the internet ? If so you have to download the Athros LAN drivers from the ASUS website. http://www.asus.com/ROG_ROG/G75VW/HelpDesk_Download/ Then copy the driver onto a flash drive or external HDD. Connect flash drive or external HDD to your laptop and install LAN driver. That should fix your problem. Good Luck.

Yes I do have access to another laptop and a external hdd. I did download the LAN driver, didn't do anything. I also have downloaded two of the wireless drivers that the ASUS customer support recommended me to download. They were WLAN Atheros Win7 64 Z920469 and also wimax intel win7 64 z71100126. None of these have worked.

Try going through this troubleshooting guide http://support.asus.com/Troubleshooting/detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&m=G75VW&s=388&hashedid=gkyI9iViQxXxueTd&os=&no=1774. If it does not help you may have to do a clean install of Windows 7 and reinstall chipset and network drivers.

Followed that troubleshooting guide and it still is not working. I'm concerned that I don't see a wireless adapter or anything saying wireless in my network adapters. Are there drivers for the network controller I need? everything i've tried just isn't working. =\

The network controller under " other devices " is probably your wireless adapter. Go back to Device Manager - other devices - right click network adapter - select properties - click details at the top - click on device description - select hardware ids. Do a google search using the second line in the value field and the words "windows 7 device drivers ". For example " PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153B&SUBSYS_153B1849 Windows 7 device drivers ". This should let you know which is the correct driver for the network controller. Before reinstalling the drivers try resetting the network controller. Device Manager - other devices - right click network adapter - select uninstall - click OK. Reboot your computer. The network adapter should reinstall itself. If this does not work try installing the drivers in " safe mode ".

So I uninstalled and restarted, i got a popup when my computer started that it couldn't install the driver or find it. I followed your instructions and tried to google the second line under hardware id's and wasn't able to find the one that I have. So unless there is anything else for me to do I'm going to just call the place that installed my wifi card and see if they can tell me which card i have and how to fix it.
