Graphic slots compatibility?

I was looking at a desktop on bestbuy's website because I'm going to purchase a low price desktop and upgrade it through the rest of the year (No I will not just build one.) and while looking at the specifications, I happened to notice that the available slots only listed 1 PCI Express x1, and the card I was planning to upgrade it with is a Dual Slot PCI Express 3.0, whereas the current card only takes up a single slot and is PCI Express 2.0. Now, I'm pretty sure that idea is scrapped right? I can't use the card I planned to because it takes two slots, and the desktop only comes with a single one, and two regular PCI slots. So I was wondering, could I fix this somehow just by swapping motherboards or would I be better off finding a new card/new pre-built system? Also what is the difference between the PCI Express x1 and PCI Express x16?

Well what's your motherboard?
You can put pci-e 3 cards on pci-e 2 slot without any noticeable bottlenecks
Dual slot cards means they use 2 slot on your case (the hole behind your case) not using 2 pci-e slot on the board. But if there's another slot very close under the pci-e slot, the dual slot card will block it

The problem is I don't know the motherboard, it doesn't specify on the website. I could give the link here, are you sure dual slot card is meant for the holes in the back of the case? The card in question is this.

Here's a picture i made with paint to tell you where the card goes.

And you should also get a new PSU. Old PSU have degraded overtime. So getting a new one will be a great idea

I don't know what the motherboard is for the rig on sale, but with the current card as 2.0 x1 I imagine the motherboard only goes x1. Do you think I would be better off switching the motherboards to one with 3.0 x16 slots? And getting compatible processor?

If you have the money then yes.
But for now you can use the one you got.
Can you take a picture of the motherboard ?
I've been searching for the motherboard and nothing useful came out.
I don't think there's any gaming computer that doesn't have x16 slot (even pre built ones)

I haven't bought it and haven't seen it before so I don't know what the motherboard even looks like, I've searched and it seems to be different depending on where it's listed. The official website has it as ASRock A55M-HVS and newegg had it as AMD A45 FCH chipset, so I don't know :??:
