I am new to PC building and I would like to know if these parts are all compatible, where I can cut the price down and if the PC is too powerful. I am planning on playing Minecraft at max settings with texture packs and optifine. I will also use Blender, a 3d rendering software.

The parts are the following:

Asus Z87-Pro (V Edition) ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
   $174.99

Patriot Viper 3 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
   $64.99

Patriot Viper 3 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
   $64.99

A-Data Premier Pro SP600 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
   $104.99

Toshiba 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
   $74.99

Sapphire Radeon R9 290 4GB Tri-X Video Card
   $400.00 (Manual)

Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Asus VS247H-P 23.6" Monitor

Where's the CPU? You link a motherboard without a cpu. We can just assume its intel, but we don't know.

You can save money on ram, you only need minimum of 8gb ram, preferably dual channel.

I'd recommend getting a different PSU, It'll work in this system, but maybe consider getting an XFX 650w. It's a high quality psu. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb9

You can also probably lower the SSD to 120gb if you want, it's probably most likely going to serve as a boot drive anyways.

The storage drive is fine, but you can get a 1TB drive for ~50USD. If you just plan on playing minecraft, maybe adding in music and what not, then the 1TB should be plenty I'd imagine. Of course, the 2TB will probably last longer because...
For your needs, it is overkill. No CPU is listed in that build.

Also, I recommend that you buy a kit of RAM (2x8GB) instead of individual 1x8GB. While they amount to the same capacity, 2x8GB kits are tested to work together. Two 1x8GB may not even though the brand is the same. They could've come off different production lines and are not tested and guaranteed to work with one another. But just a warning that they may work or they may not work and you may have to do some tweaking.

Of course, the 2TB will probably last longer because it has more space, this is just one of those things that you can keep or consider changing, Probably not a high priority on the price rediction thing.

The 290 is probably already overkill. But it a strong graphics card if you plan on playing other games.

As mentioned no CPU is listed as well as nothing listed for how you plan to cool the CPU you decide to go with. The CPU will be VERY important, not as much for the gaming but for the 3D rendering processing power is much more important.
