The problem Im having is only wifi based, I get full gigabit ethernet with no issues on the wired side, and consistently get 60ish Mbps download speed on speed test websites using wired platforms. I am on a Comcast Xfinity Blast service with the Triple Play package and have only around 20 devices connected, though I believe my router has support for 100 connections and is rated for 'medium to large' households, so I dont think I've hit any limits.

My system is setup Xfinity Modem w/ wifi wired into a netgear dual band wndr4300(N750) router. The reason for this being through I get a strong signal from the router wifi, its insanely slow. I mean like 10 Mbps or less slow. With the Netgear wifi, I get around 20ish Mbps. Considering this is a Wireless N router, and in the settings it says It can go up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4 ghz band and 450 on 5ghz band, thats the first problem as on neither bands does my wifi speed go above 25 Mbps. I use this wifi not for pcs or a laptop but my Iphone, Ipad Air, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS Vita, all of which wont go above 25 Mbps, though my Ipad and Iphone are the only devices able to work on 5ghz. I can connect my laptop to wifi, but I dont, my laptop also wont go above 25 if that counts for anything but i just plug it into wired ethernet so i dont worry about that.

Its using WPA2 security on the 5ghz and WPA(TKIP) on the 2.4 and has MMA enabled on the 5ghz band currently, I turned it off on the 2.4 ghz band and its what got me to 25 Mbps. When MMA is on all I get is between 15-20. I also get disconnects, it doesn't happen all the time, but several times a hour it will microdc and in a minute max auto reconnect.

Any ideas? Im looking to get into streaming gaming IE via PS4/Vita and Steam in home streaming via a HTPC connected my TV however, unless I can get my wifi working properly, its not going to happen.

Thanks

I would put WPA2 security on both bands with AES encryption if available. It looks like you are getting interference on your channels. I would turn off the wifi on the Xfinity modem. On the Netgear, in the 2.4Ghz band, set your channel width to 20Mhz. Also only use channels 1, 6, or 11. I would start with 11 then 1 then 6 to see if any will give you a better speed. On the 2.4Ghz band you can't really expect much better than 25 to 30Mbit/s unless you live way away from other houses and businesses. Remember all your devices that are using 2.4Ghz are sharing bandwidth.
