Hi,
so i am going to get new cpu , now i need to choose i5 4670k or i5 4670 ? my gpu is MSI r9 290 . 8 GB ram. I would play battlefield 4 and battlefield 3 multiplayer , far cry 4, assasins creed unity and gta 5. I would get also water cooler for cpu.

but will it be worth it to get a little bit expensive k processor ? How much can i benefit in thouse games ? Would overclocking make my cpu a little bit more "future proof"?

Thanks, i cant really decide , i am not really benchmark guy but i want my fps higher if possible , but how much benefit would i get?

The "K" means it has an unlocked multiplier therefore meaning it is much more efficient (for a lack of a better word) during overclocking. It all depends by how much you...
It won't be bottlenecking the 290 at stock clocks. Probably no fps increase.

But if its cpu dependent, then you can get up to 10% gain. Make sure you've got a good cooler. An test overclocks with Prime 95.

Google to work out what you should be aiming for.

The "K" means it has an unlocked multiplier therefore meaning it is much more efficient (for a lack of a better word) during overclocking. It all depends by how much you overclock, but a high overclock in a cpu heavy game such as battlefield would most likely give around a 15% increase in performance, possibly. Just an estimate. The K doesn't make it really that much more future proof apart from its ability to maybe keep up with other cpus as it ages by pushing it to its limits during over clocking. So revising what i just said, infact it will most likely add a bit of life to the cpu, but if you get to the stage where you need to start squeezing every bit of performance out of the cpu just to keep up, you should know it's probably time to buy a new cpu.. :) Hope that all helped
However please note you'll only see a performance increase in games where the r9 290 is bottle-necking the cpu or when the game is extremely cpu orientated. I highly doubt the r9 290 will bottleneck that cpu much at all, and if it does, the cpu will most likely be out dated as well
