Hello, I only know the very basics of PC components such as RAM and Hard drives etc. However, I know nothing about compatibility and whatnot.

Anyway, this is the first time I will be building a PC and I need some recommendations and if anyone could build a PC with the following requirements that would be great help.

Information:

  • - I live in the UK
    - I tend to play a lot of games. I would like to play games such as DayZ, Battlefield etc. at high frame frame rates and high quality.
    - I multitask a lot. I tend to download / watch videos and play games at the same time.
    - I use my PC for school work as well such as programming / general essay writing etc.
    - Surfing the internet.

Solution
Very tough with monitor. I've tried to stick with the budget but couldn't

Budget £500/$850 in title
That budget won't get you far in high quality settings of battlfield, though would suffice for lower quality settings of gaming and ofourse multitask demanding general use
I am in the UK too, try this pc configurator http://www.overclockers.co.uk/syscon_int.php?prodid=FS-334-OK
Opt for an Intel Core i5 cpu, cpu cooler other than stock, Radeon R7 250 GPU, 8bg RAM, 1TB SATA HDD, H81M-A motherboard, it will keep you under £500 and give great performance. Then ofcourse you can shop around different websites/stores for price comparisons, once you have a build set/know all your parts needed, to suit your budget

Have not yet learnt to use this format of posting a build, but for starters, it's £220 over budget of £500

My apologies, I forgot to mention

I don't need an operating system as I already have a copy of Windows 8. I also don't need mouse / keyboard, but I do need a monitor.

I don't mind intel or AMD.

Sorry, My bad. use this website pcpartpicker.com to post such builds

There is hardly 3-4 pund difference between 500GB and 1TB. You'll not be benefited here. Even with R7 260x the build is over your budget with the difference of 9 pounds.

You've made a major downgrade here in CPU from the quadcore i5 down to a dual core @( hence the price achieved compared to all other posted attempts
