hey guys, I'm looking for a new primary drive. Personally I want a quick boot up time on my OS. So the obvious choice is an SSD. Now i've heard the new Kingston V300's Suck. So i started looking at the 120GB Samsung EVO 840 which costs around £55. a 1TB SSHD costs £67. now I know for a fact the SSD Will be MUCH quicker. However the 120GB storage isn't enough for me.
Now i'm led to believe that how an SSHD works, is that the first few times you boot up your PC it acts like a HDD. It then "learns" the most popular things you use (an obviously the OS would be amongst these. I've read it takes around 9 - 10 boot ups before your OS really gets to it's quickest speed the SSHD can boot it up.
Realistically how much quicker would this be compared to a conventional 7200RPM HDD? Two times quicker? Three times? (just out of curiosity how much quicker would the SSD be compared to a HDD?)
Now the 2TB SSHD is £88. A 120GB SSD is £55 and a 1TB HDD (WD Black) is £40, this makes £95 so for £7 more it may be worth considering that (at the expense of some storage space).~
So I still am considering the SSD + HDD Combo, but even then the storage space is still quite abit less.
I really would appreciate some info on the SSHD Rather than people commenting saying "Oh just buy the SSD + HDD"
Cheers,
Primordial Genesis.
