Okay, so i had sapphire hd radeon 6950 2gb Dirt 3 edition and it went black and died. I then bought a EVGA gtx 700 that was recommended by a friend and this thing is not cutting the cheese. I play a lot of wow along with titanfall and other games. When I was in wow I was only getting around 40-50 fps on the timeless isle where my buddy gets almost 200. I am not 100% why this is happening, but here are my comp specs.

Asus Sabertooth 990fx r2.0 mobo
EVGA gtx 770 graphics
Cool Max 1000W power supply (not modular)
8gb RAM corsair xms
AMD Phenom II 965 Black edition (overclocked to 4 GHz)
SSD Samsung 128 gb 840 pro for wow and 1tb hard drive for titanfall

I recomend Gigabyte a lot , cause they never fail on quality materials. But prettymuch anything that has the slots you need. Motherboards dont REALY matter unless you wanna overclock and do crossfire/sli ect.

The FX8350 will be strong enough to run your card , but all in all has less gaming power , eats a ton of power and wil run hotter.

At the end of the day both CPU-s would be a major upgrade.

The 8350 is on par with the i5 after overclock (i5 pulls...

Your GPU is underperforming because your CPU is bottlenecking it, by a lot. Even overclocking it to 4ghz isn't gonna cut it at all.
Upgrade your CPU to at least 8320 (Preferably 8350), and you will experience a HUGE fps boost :)
8350 is also known for being a extremely good OC'ing CPU.

Well he is already talking about getting a new CPU and a new motherboard is only about 60$

Even then I think the i5-4690 is better worth it then any other AMD CPU for gaming. AMD-s CPU-s have been in strong decline since they lost their last fab. All they have for them is big numbers like 8core 4,7ghz and meanwhile it has a lot less performance then an intel 4core 3,5ghz.

So I understand that my cpu is a bottleneck, but I just am not tech savy to upstanding why. So why would it bottleneck my GPS if it over clocks to 4ghz and the cpu I should get over clocks from I guess 4ghz to 4.2ghz? I'm not saying anyone is wrong I just like to understand for my own benefit.

No matter what you do with that CPU at this point it wont realy be enough. Only real solution here is buying a new one.

Currently a 3ghz 4th gen processor would have almost 2x as much power as your 4ghz phenom. Numbers arent everything , its an old CPU architecture. Even if you put in watercooling and took it up to 5ghz it wouldnt realy matter.

So I wouldn't mind switching to Intel, but where am I going to find a good mood for this for told $60? The mobo I have was almost $200. Do you think the 8350 will put out the performance I need to go with the gtx 770?

The 8350 is on par with the i5 after overclock (i5 pulls slightly ahead) and with a 770 you should have no real problems running games for the next few years.

Or better yet , if you wanna go with AMD just get the 8320 , same chip at 0,1ghz lower for a considerable price difference. And you can just OC that 0,1 back on without a sweat. Only real difference is when OCing higher the 8350 responds a bit better.
