I am planning on SLI'ing my MSI R9 290 and I was wondering what PSU to go with. ive decided corsair AX but not sure wether I need to get a 760 or 860. I will be overclocking my CPU but not the cards. any point me paying more for the 860?

Yeah, 760 definitely won't cut it on 290 Crossfire. 860 would be cutting it close, but considering you can get the 1000G2 Blackbird listed for cheaper than the AX860, it's definitely the better choice.

its the same price as the ax860 in the UK but I don't need 1000w and the ax860 is platinum grade5

It doesn't matter what 80+ rating it is, the difference is negligible. And the 1000G2 gives you more headroom and better quality. Why would you not want to go with that? 860w is pushing it close with 290s in Crossfire, especially if you're going to be overclocking.

Ok? And what is a 780 Titan? lol

The R9 290 pulls considerably more power than the 780 or Titan (whichever you were referring to). The 290 has been seen to pull 350w+ power spikes on its own. The 1000w PSU will give you more headroom for longevity reasons, and the 1000G2 has a 10 year warranty. It is in every way superior (save for the negligible difference in efficiency) when priced the same.
