6 Phases for the CPU. its the same as the ASUS M5A99FX pro 2.0 that i have, but on the 970 chipset instead of 990fx. With my FX 8320 + Hyper 212 EVO i cant get more than 4.2 out of it. You want much better cooling and 8 or 12 phases for the CPU on the motherboard, like the sabertooths or the gigabytes Ud3's

There is no "maxximum" overclocking for the motherboard or the CPU.

I run my FX8350 @ 5.2Ghz 24x7. It's on a Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 with an H100i with Noctua fans in push pull.

I have an M5A97 R2.0 standard, it's running an FX6350 @ 4.8Ghz with an H100 and stock fans.

I would guess, with proper cooling and depending on your CPU, 4.6 - 5.0 Ghz should be possible.
