I recently formatted my C drive and installed Windows 8.1 on it and began the process of reinstalling games. All of my game folders are still on my second hard drive (D drive). I was under the impression that unlike Steam and Origin, I had to download the games on uPlay in order to reinstall them. I installed Splinter Cell Blacklist and Rayman Legends with no problems, but Driver San Francisco's installer would not run, even in Windows XP SP3 compatibility mode. I previously deleted the game folder created in a Windows 7 install from my D drive, but I took a gamble and transferred the same game folder from my external hard drive back to the D drive. I figured out that by launching uPlay and then running the game's application file, I was still able to launch the game, even though uPlay prompted for a download. My cloud saves and achievements still registered on uPlay! Now I remembered once before that I launched installed uPlay games from custom game shortcuts in Origin and the uPlay overlay box annoyingly stuck on the screen indefinitely. Now that I was able to trick uPlay into thinking that I have already installed Driver San Francisco, the same tactic worked in another game. Are there any bugs or known issues that I should know about before attempting to launch all uPlay games through Origin this way?
