So I assembled my first gaming PC few weeks ago, and I wasn't really paying any attention to SLI compatibility because I didn't think I was going to need it... Now I changed my mind, and would like to get a different motherboard. I already found someone who's interested in the one I have now.
Now, I know that moving an OEM license between different motherboards is not allowed, but it should work if they are the same.
Just how "the same" do they have to be? I have Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3. I would like to replace it with Gigabyte GA-Z87X-D3H. The card has the same manufacturer, socket, and chipset. Only the name is slightly different. Would my current Windows still reject it?
