Hi guys. Recently I bought an asus maximus hero VI mobo, and I have been experiencing problem with the sound. After a month now I know that they are due to my Home theater system, which doesn't support DTS. So I thought it is better for me to use Dolby digital instead (like in gigabyte boards) but I dunno where to get the driver, actually I tried and old one I have but it says it has compatibility problems. Any ideas? Thx guys

When in the Realtek HD software, you can turn DTS off under "DTS connection", there you should see a "DTS: Neo pc" logo, just tick the "OFF" button there, then you should be fine.

I've not tried on a unsupported pair of speakers yet myself but i am using the Maximus VI HERO board myself. Actually have DTS off all the time here.

Oh I se thanks a lot for the info, although mine is currently off and I am avoiding the spidf out, right now I am using the speaker one but that means stereo only, so I-d prefer to use dolby instead so I can switch back to spidf and 5.1

Im also using 5.1 myself on my VI HERO mobo, the Logitech Z-5500.
So spidf is silent without DTS Neo pc on? I tried S/PDIF once and it worked fine, DTS was off when i tested it.
Your 5.1 system doesn't support the use of 3x3,5 mini-jacksticks for 5.1 sound?
