Hello eveyone.
I bought a laptop like 3 years ago, but sine few months too many errors appear in my windows then I decided to format it.
I searched for the recovery CD and didn't find it, I decided to download a Windows 7version similar to mine which is Home Premium 32 bit.
I did, then installed the window , I used my Windows Product Key on the laptop's label, but the windows isn't genuine, and it asks me to activate it.

How can I solve this isue? can't I just install a windows 7 and use my serial number to activate th copy?
I appreciate any comment.

Solution
OK, yes. Those won't work.

The key that you have for your laptop is for an OEM license. The one you downloaded, and I linked are the same, and will not work for the license printed on the bottom of your laptop.

Solution?
Contact Samsung and get whatever recovery media they have. It may cost a few $$ though.

Thanks for your quick reply.
I downloaded it from a site that says the copies are genuine from this link
http://msft-dnl.digitalrivercontent.net/msvista/pub/X15-65740/X15-65740.iso‏
I googled and found out some say that the laptop needs special copy of windows and that the key won't work with the regular copies of windows, because something is related to the hardware or bios.
So is the copy you posted working on my samsung laptop? it is Samsung R530
Thanks again.
