No, it just lets you adjust the posistion of your monitor easily by attaching it to an arm.
While it is often most useful for people with multimonitor setups or people who need to constantly reorient their screens. Three monitors should fit on a sufficiently large desk even on their standard mount. So its not something you need unless your desk is tiny, or you need to have a portrait orientation monitor.
