You can play over 9000+ games with that computer.

You are going to have to be more descriptive if you want a better answer.

There are a lot of old games that will work fine on your computer.

What is the resolution of the monitor? (Size doesn't matter)

Most new games will run very poorly on that system. Yes.

What kind of games? Like BF4, Titan Fall, Bioshock, Crysis, etc. Or like Starcraft, LoL, etc. Your system is a bit outdated, but some games may be playable at very low details.

what about games like dead space 3 and castlevania lords of shadows ?

Unfortunately you will not be able to play many games at the resolution because that is a very demanding resolution for that video card. If you lower the resolution and lower the in-game settings you should be able to play those games on medium-high settings depending on how low you bring the resolution down. 720p I would say you can get high settings with decent FPS. 1080P Medium settings with those games. 2K .. meh.. probably low!

I had a HD 4850. It is not being held back by the CPU. It is an old and weak card and I could not max out BF3 with it

i dont quiete understand ...:(  is it my card thats weak or my whole system all together ? why is the card playing bf3 maxed on the same monitor i am using yet it wont play lighter games like dead space 3 ?
i dont quiete understand how these things work. i taught that bf3 was way heavier than dead space.
i see the other guy in this thread saying he had the 4850 card and couldnt max out bf3 so im even more confused.
why is my friends card maxing the game his cant ? my friend as well as i have the 1gb xfx version

The card is weak and the monitor is legendary. There are two problems here. This card only has 512 MB of memory. If you are playing a game at the highest resolution the card isn't going to have enough memory to load all of the textures and models to display them on the screen without writing to the systems memory which results in horrible FPS. Lowering the resolution will correct this issue because you are telling the card to process less pixels. The second part is that the card is really outdated. It can play older games on good settings IF you monitor is running at a resolution those games were designed to run at, which your monitor isn't.

Hope this explains it a little better!

as i said before the card is the 1gb version from xfx not the 512mb. and i never tried to run the the games at the monitors native resolution because i dont think there is a card that can manage that lg smart tv. yea its a damn tv with a hdmi slot so i use it for my monitor as well

1GB vs 512GB at 2K resolution will have the same outcome. Poor FPS. Sorry I didn't notice that in the first thread. Have you tried playing any of these games on the computer yet?

not on my computer exactly but i tried the dead space 3 on a friends computer that has a weaker cpu and it runs at ultra without even the slightest lag. i have a core 2 duo e7200 and he has a pentium dual core e2180 . you see how confusing this is getting ? i have a little knowledge about the computer parts but this is just plain crap to me now.. have you ever tested this card personally by the way or did you judge based on a benchmark ? i need experienced feedback not theory , i want someone that actuallly used the card before because theory sometimes is WRONG.
not saying you are wrong or anything but you know what i mean

Well BF3 is advanced and realistic as hell, so in my opinion you would be able to run games from around 2012, or maybe newer.
