A laptop drive with windows 7 runs fine on a laptop but not my desktop.

All of the systems are 64 bit. The desktop can easily run 7.

Different hardware = different drivers, of cousre it will not run, & if it is an OEM version (from an HP, Dell etc) it will not run on a different system period.
