What is DirectX 9c(not 9)

I must be relay stupid but what dose the "c" mean when it says you need "DirectX: Version 9.0c" and "Sound Card: Direct X 9.0c sound device". What dose the "c" stand for?

Its a version identifier. First was dx9 then was dx9b and finally dx9c its just an iteration of directx9. Of course this is generally speaking as directx9c sub versions are still (i think) being rolled out today. If you have a pc built in the last 8 or so years then you most likely have a directx9c sound card and graphics card.
