hey everyone!
I updated my computer due to motherboard failure and now have an asrock extreme4... I am using patrior memory (2x8gb) intel extreme masters limited edition ram. The odd thing is I checked out all the ports with the one stick and works a treat with the one 8gb. The other one when test each port on single channel just causes the computer to light up, ashut down, light up, shut down :( soooo I tried it in someone else computer and it works fine!!!
they are both from the same pack and identical.
any help would be much appreciated :)

Check your manual, usually sticks have to be staggered: i.e. A1 (slot 1), and A2 (slot 3), or B1 (slot 2) and B2 (slot 4).

Make sure your BIOS settings are set to XMP, and check to see if the BIOS sees all the sticks installed, with the correct settings/timings.

yea I tried putting them in the way the manual says, but just putting one stick in at a time it wont recognise the one stick and turns on and off and unable to get to the bios page. but with the other its absolutely fine... its just really odd because I tried them individually in another computer and both are fine
