how good will the GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P handle the fx 6300 in overclocking

Stop right there.

Spending money just to overclock is NOT worth it.

You will at most see a 5% increase in performance.

I used to be like you.. I wish someone told me not to replace parts to get a 5% increase in performance.

If that was the case I may be moved out of my parents house already.

im doing alot more than just a mobo... its just an upgrade and it's not like im spending every last dime on my pc

It depends on what you're gonna want to over clock it to. I've seen reports of people saying they can easily get to 4.5 GHz with a decent CPU cooler on this board. The VRM cooling on this board is definitely very good for this price, and the fact that it's a 8+2 power phase makes it even better. I ordered one myself and it should be coming in the next few days. Definitely go for it if you can haha.
