Mixing Multiple Rams

So I have a slight dilemma. I recently bought some new ram (g.skills ripjaws 2x4gb 1600mhz). Lucky they work fine, but it leaves me wondering what to do with my old ram (corsair 2x4gb 1333mhz). Can I just throw them on the board and be alright? Or should I put them in storage as spares? Or just throw the things out. I THINK the corsair ram can be OC'd to match 1600mhz if that means anything, but don't quote me on that.

EDIT: Quick edit, just noticed after check online that my corsair ram is actually listed at 1600, and my g.skills is listed at 1866. Is there a reason when I check them both on the mobo it downscales them both by a tier (the speeds I have listed above)?

Also I should mention that when I have both sticks in the board it gives me the wonderful 16gb I wanted, but downscales to the predicted 1300mhz

Its because with mixed memory, your board can't figure default, or the correct XMS settings you memory can work it, it gets confusing signals from the 2 different types of memory, so it simply sets everthing to the slowest default timings and speed for your cpu/board combination.
You will have to go into the BIOS and manaully configure your memory to 1600mhz, using the correct timings for that speed as well from the slowest of the 2 types of memory you have. This should work, but no guarantees 100%. Just try it and see.
