I have a set of Creative Labs A550 5.1 surround sound speakers and the work fantastic except the rear speakers. I don't hear any sound when I sound test them with Realtek's audio utility. I double checked to make sure if all the cables were connected in the right place but I can't figure out what the problem is.

It just has a stereo 3.5mm jack input. Plug it into the green speaker socket in the back of the pc. Read the speaker manual to see how to switch it to 5.1

SOLVED. For me the solution was moving the cables connected to the motherboard from the audio outputs. i had the side output cable connected correctly. But for my Maximus 7, i had to move the side cable down and used the input next to the microphone. they all work and bump now.
