First of all, sorry if 'motherboard' is the wrong catergory, but bios and motherboard are imporant to each other so yeah, anyway

hi, i am a owner of a Dell Precision 690 with the DT motherboard and i know that without the MYT motherboard you can not just simply plugin a quad core CPU without your pc complain its not compatible, so to the point, i've read on multiple dell forums that users have got round this by downgrading the bios to A01, but the lowest i can downgrade to is A02 using the EXE thing that flashes the bios for you within windows, now all the other bios work apart from A01 work (yeah... the one i want :/ ) and im not all the great with flashing with a USB because i heard it can render your PC without a bios if it screws over (making the pc 100% useless, right?) and to start i don't even know how to do it so... any body help me out here, if i cant get round flashing without USB, can you point me in the direction or even type up a beginers step by step, i'm not good with software, ok thanks.

P.S when running the WS690A01 (the bios .exe) it says

"Windows Configuration Error

An error was encountered trying to configure Windows to
allow flashing, please reboot and try again, if the error
re-occurs, please connact technical help "

(tryed what it asks and of course nothing, and as of tech surport.... no thanks :( ... )

my specs RAM: 8GB, CPU: duel core intel xeon 5050, current PSU info 1kw, GPU: radeon HD 5450, current bios A02 (from A08 latest)........ and sorry if late reply its 2:30 am over in england here.

downgrade to bios A01 from dos:
1. create USB Dos Bootable.
2. copy your bios.exe to USB.
3. restart, F12, boot from USB, then run your ****.exe bios file
