How much better is the FX-6300 versus AMD Athlon X4 760K for a budget build?

Hello TomsHardware!

I'm thinking of building a budget PC and want to know just how much more power the FX-6300 gives me at my fingertips compared to that of the AMD X4 760K.

Will there be significant differences in handling games like DayZ, Rust, Minecraft, etc.? I understand a stronger GPU can compensate but just HOW MUCH better is the FX-6300?

ALSO: What's the best BUDGET GPU I could use with these processors?

$150 about? Whatever's the best bang for the buck and can play these on high settings w/ decent fps.

You will be able to play on high settings with a decent fps with both processors. The FX-6300 would perform better in gaming than the 760K but from my experience, the difference in performance isn't very significant. Between the two, I personally would go for the 760K in a budget build due to the fact that it is almost £20 cheaper and the performance difference is small (This is assuming you aren't going to be doing any overclocking. If you are, the FX is the way to go, it overclocks better).
As for the graphics card, I would go for either the R9 270 or the GTX 750Ti - Both very good budget cards.
