Match the screen resolution from the game with the desktop.

If the computer is not freezing or crashing after the display goes out then back again, its ok... Not normal but ok.. Try the beta drivers for your card or a different version.

If you can,

Clean the computer chasis from dust, also the fans and Gpu and power supply.

This may also solve the problem

Before blaming components,

Can you do a system restore from before the freezes or better yet do a clean OS install..

Just to rule out software issues

Clean the Gpu fan.

Also check your power supply, it may also be killing components.

Hi there! I believe that most likely your video card is adjusting its setting to match or optimize its resolution relative to your monitor. It is an inherent function of the video card and it is normal for your screen to flicker as it is being adjusted.

Hope this helps!

The power supply needs to provide continuous power to all components either idle or load.

So imagine your Gpu being turned off then on again because the power supply is adjusting to a higher power demand.

The biggest jump in consumption usually comes from the Gpu.

Sorry I know it's a few months later but I had this same issue. I tried replacing the power board, main board and neither fixed it. I sent both boards back. As a last ditch effort I emailed vizio and they recommended a power reset (yes the first step in troubleshooting) but I figured what the hell I tried everything else. So they had me unplug the tv, hold the power button for 30 secs, then plug the tv back in while holding the power button.. sure enough the problem never occurred again. This was over a year ago.
