Okay now here me out, I'm new to this so please go easy on me. I AM using a stock cooler that's why i'm not going above 3.9ghz. Now, when i run prime 95 for a while, my cpu goes up to 72 (No crashes or anything) But when i played battlefield hardline for around 30-40 mins, temperatures did not go above 59. I'm using hardware monitor and Core temp for measuring temperatures. No my basic question is, is it alright if i keep it at 3.9, or should i go back?

I don't mind loud. But what about the 72 degrees while running prime 95?

So it's safe right? As long as temps don't go above 65 WHILE GAMING

Thank you very much! I selected you as best answer (and i don't wanna sound arrogant or like a prick) But just to be safe, and again sorry, may i know your experience or qualification in overclocking. I really do appreciate the answer but i just want to be sure.

I have overclocked my cpu (Athlon II x2 270)quite a bit, from 3.4 to 4.0, and that is without increasing the multiplier, i had to do it the hard way with the fsb, and the temps only went up about 5 degrees, it always stays under 50 when running prime95, and im just using the stock cooler.
