I am at a crossroads. I want a second monitor for my computer and I want a smallish 3dtv (I'm one of the few people that actally love 3d!) that I can use as my main computer monitor and watch tv/dvds/bluerays. My computer, an Asus pre-built m51ac, uses an Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 1 GB that has as output 1 VGA, 1 DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 Display Port.
I am currently using an Emachines e202h 20" using DVI, which will become my secondary monitor.

One of my questions is will a 3d HDTV make a good computer monitor? I'm not a big gammer, but I want the text and computer stuff too look decent.

3d movies would be nice, but I'll pass on it if it cost too much. Now for the HDTV I'll probably just use an OTA antenna (I'm a cable cutter).

I was looking at this for tv/main computer monitor: BenQ 24" Class 3D TN LED Monitor - 1920 x 1080, 2x HDMI / DVI-D / VGA, Black/Red - XL2411Z (tigerdirect url) http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8924521&CatId=5469
The Price is $279 ($50 savings) (Price as always, is a big consideration)

What do you think of this? Sure it will play HDTV good, but will it work as a main computer monitor?

3d isn't a must-have. I may get the Dell monitor Tigerdirect is clearing out. Watching DVDs should still be okay on this and it is 5" bigger: Dell 24" Class Widescreen LED Monitor - 1920 x 1080, 16:9, 7000000:1 Dynamic, 60Hz, 5ms, HDMI, DVI, VGA, Energy Star - ST2421L. Thats a Dell (good rep for monitors) and it is 24" so 5 inches better than I working with

$149 regular price is $200

Bigger is better, so if I forgo, 3d what is the biggest/best monitor I can get for $150 to 275 price range.
Thanks for any help-you guys rock!

T.V.'s make terrible monitors, the viewing experience is far worse and up close your eye's won't like it much.

I would attempt to save up for a 120Hz 3D monitor, they are expensive but far better.

would you like ~$250 monitor that is around 27" that is good for the price?

Yes, do you have a url?
Well if I forget about the 2d and just get a nice big monitor for my comuter, I can still watch dvds on it (since that what I do now on my 20" emachines monitor.
