Hey guys i am having a huge prob with my WD passport external hard disk. Well i was watching a movie and my dongle was plugged in too. Both at same time. It always had a prob if i plug both at same it slows down my computer. So one day while both were plugged in i clicked on a movie but my computer hanged. Then i clicked close microsoft windows. I restarted then when i plugged only my hard disk it doesn't show anything at all. If i go to "safely remove hardware and eject media" option and try to figure out suddenly a Local disk came out. Its not named as passport its just local disk G: in a computer and when i tried another computer its local drive H:. So i read many threads of this site but none was usefull. So when i go to device manage option and when i go to properties it says its running fine. But in the computer which i said that hard disk come out as G: is a windows 7 and there it says that it need trouble shooting i tried but troubleshooting was useless. And yeah in device manager there is 2 things i am confused. There is a hard disk named "WD passport ultra" and a "Local Disk G:" if WD passport is Local disk G so why there is 2 ??? Maybe i made all of u confuse so let me directly say what you guys need to answer -

Please tell me how to fix my Hard disk. How to have my hard disk show in my comp ? its showing local disk which is not even opening so how can i access my hard disk ? And if i need to format it how can i back up the files ? even if i right click on the local disk from my comp my computer stops. So what to do ? How to fix this matter ? How to have my SOOO MUCH IMPORTENT FILES BACK ??

Pardon me for bad english. And hope i will have my answer from some great peoples please help me.

hey guys i am the same one who asked the question. I think i maybe need to format it. But is there any way to backup all the files ??? I mean if i can backup the files i can surely format the hard disk. I have Recuava but it doesn't work. Well if i click on that local disk by mouse the comp stop working for some minute if i click the local disk in a anti virus it says the G: (Local Drive) can't be accessed. Same with Recuava so what to do ? How can i backup the files without even accessing it and being unable to right click on it or do something with the disk by any anti virus or softwa

There are 3rd party softwares that allow you to check and fix hard disk errors at boot stage !
You can try those..

Then the HDD is damaged. You need to send it to the service center.
