GPU is more important than CPU for gaming, so i would get the 770! But maybe you can upgrade it to 4670 if you get 280x ;)

With the titles you plan on playing, nVidia would've been the better choice. Go with the i5 4440 and gtx 770. There's not much of a performance difference between the i5 and i7.

If you are mainly gaming then choosing an i5 and a more powerful graphics card is better than choosing a CPU and slower graphics card. Gaming at 1680x1050 won't be hard with either of those cards though.

Also if you are comfortable with it, you could get a AMD FX-8350 which is faster and cheaper than an i5-4440. Would be about 10-20% faster. The AM3+ motherboards are also cheaper.

i wanted to get a fx 8350 but the majority seem to be on i5 and the single core performance side

i have reed lots of article and 90% of it say that i5 4 cores are much better in gaming than FX 8350 8 cores since all games not utilizing that many cores

that really make me headache :D

The i5 won't bottleneck the gtx770. It's just that you'll be limited with cpu intensive apps.

it'll play it, but until they fix the optimizations don't expect to play ultra well I'd say.

The i5 is probably better than 8350 for pure gaming. If you do more multi-thread tasks, then I would get the 8350, but for pure gaming the i5 should do fine. More future proof too.
