Older Sony VAIO 'All in One' CPU upgrade

I've had this Sony VAIO PC (VGC-LT25E) for several years now and am wondering if I can upgrade the CPU? Currently it has a Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 1.66GHZ. Can I replace it with something faster? Would a 233 GHZ or faster CPU work? If so, which one and where to purchase it?

If the CPU is not upgradable would a newer BIOS work? The current BIOS is from Phoenix Technologies LTD, version R1081W5, Date 04/11/2008.

Solution
It would not be worth it considering you can pay the same or less to get another used laptop that meets or exceeds what you could upgrade it to.

Thank you for your response.

This is a desktop PC and not a laptop. It is an 'All in one' PC with a 22 inch flat screen monitor with all the internals inside a case secured to the back of the monitor, separate mouse and keyboard. I had it all apart yesterday, cleaned the fans and air vents, I even unlocked the CPU and looked at it (Not too mention all the many fiddlely little screws).

It seems like it is running much slower since the last upgrade to Firefox. I get many 'Not Responding' messages when I'm on FB or surfing the net. I also get the same 'Not Responding' messages when checking email. Ran Malware bytes and removed one item. Also updated and ran Zonealarm. Also did a defrag last night.

Cheers!

David

Please may I ask what chipset is your motherboard? You can find out by downloading software such as CPU-Z, and selecting the "Mainboard" tab. Feel free to take a screen shot of CPU-Z in mainboard rather than typing it out.

There onwards I'll try and determine compatible CPUs.

To be honest I have a laptop which is similar in specification to your all in on PC, I upgraded the CPU and RAM, but the greatest "performance" boost was from installing a SSD. You may benefit from a SSD too yourself, rather than a regular HDD. You don't need to get a SSD, I'm simply suggesting.

All the best. :)
