Hello everyone, I am planning to get one of these for playing on a Xbox One. I have a few questions to ask about them. I will be playing all types of games from competitive shooters to RPGs.

- Would a IPS panel be better for the picture quality, or would a TN monitor be better for the response time?
- Is the 1ms vs 5ms that big of a difference?
- How big of a picture difference is an IPS over a TN?
- The TV has a game mode, does that make the response time even come close to the monitors and is it even a viable option?

If someone would be kind enough to answer my questions I would be extremely grateful.

Asus MX239H

AH-IPS screen, best viewing experience and you also don't want a T.V., especially if you will be sitting close to it.The T.V. is more blurry, the colours are more or less dull and it effects your eyes much more then a monitor. Get the Asus MX239H!

The MX239H over the VX238H because the IPS panel is far better then a TN panel, colours, crispness and sharpness is far better on the newer LED technology.

From the 3 models, the ASUS VX238H is the best choice for gaming. You will not see a significant difference between 1ms & 5ms, but the smaller the number, the better. The TV is still a TV it doesn't matter if it has game mode or not, I'm guessing that it has around 5-12 ms response time (which is bad).

Thank you for the quick response! So, will the IPS panel not have tearing, ghosting or any problems like that on a fast paced FPS?

Thank you for your input! Would you say there is a significant loss in quality going from a IPS to a TN?

there is slightly, but not much. Overall, I would prefer an AH-IPS overall over a TN panel, even for gaming unless it were 120Hz/144Hz, which the other TN Panel listed is only 60Hz.

IPS panels gives you a sharper image. A significant difference? I don't think so, TN panels are not that bad, most gaming monitors use TN panel, and the games still looks beautiful.

I forgot to mention I have used both a PLS screen (Similar to IPS) and a TN panel, the difference is noticeable. My two screens were S27B550 (TN) and PB278Q (PLS 1440P), forgetting the factor of the larger resolutions, the crispness, sharpness and colours were all far better, the response time difference 2ms vs 6ms was negligible.

Okay I got you. Would over 60Hz matter if the Xbox can't go over 60fps?
