Hey guys, I'm looking for a new psu for my rig which will include an r9 290 & I want to have a room for upgrade in the future (throw in another 290 mabye) therefore I'm looking for a good 750w+ psu.
I'm considering this two because they seem to be the best options here.
Both have same warranty (5 years).

Reasons to consider the Seasonic:
Semi modular, higher output (100W difference on the 12V rail).

Reasons to consider the Antec:
Costs 25$ less, gold certified.

I'm leaning towards the Antec because It'll get me what I need for less money but mabye I'm missing something, any thoughts?

Seasonic is currently the best PSU OEM and definitely the most reputable and reliable. :) Their PSUs are all very high quality. Antec ones are good too and I like them, but not all their PSUs are up to specs. Most of them, especially the HCG (High Current Gamer) are really good. XFX is another excellent brand. XFX does not manufacture their own PSUs. Seasonic makes all of XFX's PSUs.
For R9 290 in CrossFireX configuration, I would recommend a 900W PSU. The Seasonic 850W will be very borderline and you will have very little headroom left. So you're not likely going to be overclocking with that. That doesn't give you much of an option here so if those are the only two PSUs you can afford (or available to you), then pick the Seasonic one.

The r9 290's TDP is 275W, which means two of those would consume 550W and that is when the cards are under 100% load. My cpu is 4670 non k, thats another 85W consumption, 635W so far and if we include the rest of the components it would barely scratch 700W (and in gaming it'll be less). Assuming I don't overclock the cards.

Like I said, it will be borderline and give you little (if any) headroom for overclocking. I assumed you would overclock given two R9 290 or else your CPU can be a bottleneck. And I don't like cutting it close to maxing out my PSU's power limit. Even at 700W out of 750W, that's 93.3% of total wattage that it outputs. And that's assuming the PSU actually puts out 750W. I know it's a 80+ Gold PSU, but 80+ certification has nothing to do with how well it performs. That only talks about energy conversion efficiency. There are tons of 80+ Gold PSU that are crap and do not perform as advertised. I have not managed to find a review on that Antec PSU so I don't know what its limits are. The only thing I read is on fan reviews saying it's a good PSU, but that doesn't give me much info.

Now I see what you're saying, guessing I'd aim for the 850W psu then.
