Hi guys, so i'm going to buy one of these low budget monitors(i know there are better monitors for this price like ASUS,but i have no choice right now). Both are Viewsonic 23 inch FHD with 5ms GTG
response time.

1:Viewsonic VA2342-LED http://www.viewsonic.com/us/va2342-led.html
2:Viewsonic VA2349s http://www.viewsonic.com/us/va2349s.html

The main difference i guess is that VA2342 has TN panel with 10m:1 contrast ratio and VA2349s is IPS with 20m:1 contrast ratio.

Here's my PC specs http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rcyHGX

What do u think which would be better for gaming and i also want them to last long and not die soon.

Thanks in advance!!!

The VA2349S has IPS which has better colors and viewing angle. It is worth the 10 bucks extra.

The ips panel will be better. The contrast ratio is a lot more vibrant on the ips, plus the wide viewing angles. Go for the ips, you may notice a little white bleed when the monitor is displaying dark colours (for example in Metro 2033), but it's not that massive of an issue

Thanks for helping me out, Does TN or IPS not matter for gaming? because i thought it matters, also which monitor will last longer(TN or IPS,or they don't effect how long monitor will live) ?

A lot of bull**** has been going that TNs are better for gaming because of the lower ms input lag. A lot of the a bit more expensive TNs have 2ms or 1ms input lag. (although humans cant really see the difference between 1,2 and 5)But the 2 you chose have both 5 ms lag. In this case - better just go for the better colors of the IPS.

Would you say an IPS that has 60hz is better than a TN that has 120hz?

Depends. For me (I mainly do motion graphics, 3D modelling/animation and Visual FX) IPS is always better. I am never willing to sacrifice color accuracy and vibrancy. As much as the 60 vs 120 MHz goes, some people tend to over-glorify the advantages of 120 MHz. Sure, some games might look better, with less motion blur and etc (provided you have the hardware to run 100+ FPS) but since I am strictly in the 24 FPS world and I have to make the motion blur myself, I am not inclined to believe that 120 MHz monitors are so much more worth. But yet again, my viewpoint is not that of a gamer, but of a 3D and VFX guy. The only way you would know, is to go and test one in a showroom and see with your own eyes. Cheers.
