First, Here is my rig.

MOBO - P8h61 M LX Rev 3.0 - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LX/
RAM - 8GB Kingston 1333 DDR3 Ram
CPU - Intel i3 2100
GPU - 1GB Zotac GTX560 DRR5 Graphics Card.

So after a long wait I finally got my Sandisk 128GB SSD. It boots my Win8.1 in like 3 seconds but takes
a couple of seconds more to actually login to the desktop. So far, I love it.

But there is something going on.

I am getting read and writes nowhere near of the figures I was promised :( .

Here is the SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
(I didn't get it from NewsEgg - I am from India)

Now, When I use - AS SSD Benchmark -
this is what I get.

Promised Read/Write - 490/350
What I Personally Get- 247/179

But at the same time, this guy with the exact same drive gets double of what I get :(

What am I doing wrong? It's really sucks when you wait a long time to get an ssd and it delivers just half the performance promised.

Hopefully you cowboys would be able to guide me and any help will be much appreciated.

P.S. Don't go all 'Crammer Nazi' on me, English isn't my tongue.
P.S. Please also check whether my motherboard is compatible. I am new to the whole 'SSD' thing lol.

Thanks again.

From your motherboard specs: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H61M_LX/specificatio...

Intel® H61(B3) chipset :
4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue

Your motherboard only having SATA II ports is the issue.

Which means I will not be able to get the full speed ? Any workarounds other than changing the board? :(

Sam.

Right. The performance of the SSD is being choked by the SATA II port. The only fix is a new motherboard.

That sucks. Will there be a significant difference?

Assuming all else is equal, putting that SSD on a motherboard with SATA III ports will allow it to run at or near its advertised speed.
