Hi there

I've been looking to buy a new desktop computer and i want it to be able to handle games on ultra and also intense music/video/photo creation and editing

i recently purchased a Gigabyte R9 290 WF3 4GB because it was on sale and is able to handle most games at a decent rate

im looking to buy the other parts but not sure if it will be capable to handle the above mentioned

so far my list goes like this:

CPU: i5 4690K or i5 4670K
RAM: not sure if i should get 8GB or 16GB
motherboard: was looking at the MSI z97-g45 but not sure if it is able to run ASIO4ALL
cooling: liquid or air cooling (not sure on which one to get)
storage: already decided on ssd + hdd
psu: not sure if its worth investing in 80+ gold (current choice is Thermaltake Smart Power 650W 80+ bronze)
looking to get the NZXT H230 or H440 case

budget would be most preferably under 1500$ but can be stretched a little

any help would be appreciated

also just wondering what monitor would be ideal for this build
the price of the monitor is separate from my mentioned budget (willing to spend up to 250$)

p.s.: i live in australia, so prices are bit on the high-end

thank you

CPU if ur rich go for intel if ur like me smartgo for AMD Graphics why did u already pay for it expensive and not great shouldv'e got the radeon 295x2 for a little more. Ram 4gb for gamin is enough ur not gonna be rendering or film editing well if u wanna be happy go for 8gb. Cooling go for liquid gaming really needs liquid spend more money here for higher quality better that changing ur cpu every year.PSU go for the gold cause it is more expensive but if ur gonna be gaming all the time go for gold ur parents will thank you for the lower bill costs.

I don't think going intel for 1500$ is enough AMD though sure.

Thanks for the response

I picked up the graphics for $379 while the retail is 500$
probably sticking to intel because AMD produces way too much heat, and something along the i5 range would be enough incase i would need to overclock it

You never said about overclocking... that changes everything go for intel. Graphics yup I see wut u did there ;) also the Ram 6gb for cod ghosts the only game that uses more than 4gb go for 8gb if u want ur pc without upgrading it for 2/3 yrs.
