Howdy great peeps,

Been meaning to ask, is it worth upgrading the:
"GTX 660 TI 2GB (Asus)" to a "GTX 770 4GB"?

Namely, this one: "MSI GeForce GTX 770 GAMING (4GB)" (€358,00 Total)
(Or any graphics card ranging from €300-€350 & for BlackBird, should he read this, £255)
- I DO NOT want Radeon

Would want to get the GTX 780, but the €100 difference, is just TOO much ATM.

The point is, I WANT to get a new GPU, ASAP! :ange:
(Can always get the GTX 780 later on)

Link GPU:
http://shop.egcomputerspecialisten.nl/msi/videokaarten/...

Current PC Specs:
FX-6300 OCed from 3.5Ghz -> 4.8GHz
8GB RAM
Asus GTX 660 TI

Thanks in advance,
Mike

For the added performance you would get, it isnt worth the money IMO. Id save for a 780 even if it takes some more time to get it.

You should never pair a $120 dollar cpu with a gpu that when it was released went for over $600 the gtx 770 would be the max for that system before hitting bottlenecks.

Well, I can always get it later on in about 3 months.
Have about €600 to spend freely every month, but I just need a new GPU now lol..

These 2 coming months my budget is much more tight, so the GTX 770 would be the only choice..

So the GTX 770 would be the best thing to get, for my CPU?
And if I want the 780, I'd need to get a new CPU?

Can do this all in about 4 months.

You could do something like buy the motherboard and processor this month, and then you will have enough left over if you just save the extra until next month to get something even better like the 780 ti

Funny thing is, I just recently 3-4 months upgraded the PC, well.. completely builded a new one.
The GPU is a lot older now. So REALLY not keep on re-doing it again :??:

Just wanting to replace the GPU instead of the other hardware again.
A completely new build I can do within a time frame of 5-6 months.

Well the card that would best fit your system is the 770, I know that you said no amd but the r9 290 is about 40 dollars more, but it competes with the 780 in benchmarks of games. Also if you play a game say that supports mantle, your system will perform just as good as say an i5

Nice name BTW :p

Anways, so my other option is the R9 290? And it will not bottleneck with the OCed FX-6300?
Always been a Nvidia fanboy, but might reconsider.

Indeed, the price difference is $30:

Is my PSU of 630W (Thermaltake Berlin) sufficient, to run any of those 2 cards?

The gtx 770 it could, but the 290 without a strong 12v rail you might run into some issues since you have an overclocked processor. So without the overclock and as long as your power supply is 80+ and has 48+ amps on the 12v rail you should be fine if not Get something like you could do something like http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1850snlb... if you plan on doing crossfire later. So you would need to run the processor and video card at stock until you upgrade the power supply

Thanks for all your help man.

Well.. it seems for now the GTX 770 is the only viable choice then ATM.
My mobo can't support 2 GPUs unfortunately, so Crossfire is not an option too.

Seems I will have to re-create my entire PC again in a while..

Anyways, thanks a lot, again!

One last thing, what would you say about this GPU:
http://shop.egcomputerspecialisten.nl/msi/videokaarten/... (It is the 4GB one)

Or should I go with a different brand?

I use msi and gigabyte cards normally. I use asus and evga if I'm going to be water blocking a card. I would recommend getting the 4 gig version if you plan on doing sli so when you decide to upgrade to a 1440p monitor your can sli them together.

Well it says "4096 MB" in the description, so it should be the 4GB version?
