I have a HP Pavilon dv6-1280et laptop. I burnt the CPU racently (due dusted cpu fan) so I am looking for a replacement. Can I install a more powerful CPU on it? They are so cheap (current CPU $14 on ebay).
And secondly my PC starts, fans running but no screen just caps lock and num lock lights are flashing with 5 seconds of intervals. I searched about this error and in HP's site it said that this is a CPU failiture. If I replace the CPU will it run? Is my mobo working correctly?
