CPU needing to be returned? And will Amazon UK take it?

A few days ago i bought a new CPU off amazon UK (asin Amazon UK being the seller) and installed it no problems. Yesterday I took the CPU out to clean off the thermal paste (to apply a new amount for the new heatskink) and discovered that 2 pins were slightly bent. I followed the "zero force insertion" as usual so my only thought is those pins were bent by the cpu during the locking mechanism. I unbent them and all is fine other thanthere is some 1 second auto repeating after an install of direct x through steam and SniperEliteV2 stopped responding once today (but only once). I checked on CoreTemp and my abient temps are 20 - 30 degrees and my gaming temps are 40.
The processor is an AMD FX-6300.

So should i return it to amazon to make sure? I am fairly annoyed given that this bending was not my fault. And would amazon accept such a return? Or should i just say it was "faulty"?

Amazon UK are amazing, if you want to return it I wouldn't tell them any details, just say it malfunctioned or something.
Although, from the sounds of things, it seems to be alright. Your gaming temps are always going to be more than ambient since the die is heating up, 10c more is pretty fair imo.

The game crashing was probably just a software bug.
Run a stress test if you're really concerned.

Yes, posting twice like this is really weak. Face it. You bent the pins during the new hsf install and you want us to reinforce your belief "it wasn't your fault". Double weak is returning a perfectly good cpu that you bent the pins on as "faulty".

I have to agree. You probably did something slightly wrong and bent the pins. Most of us have been there.

If you truly believe that it's due to a faulty mechanism, and feel comfortable doing so, then by all means return it. I agree with bmacsys, it seems you want us to reinforce your belief. If it was truly broken you'd have probably returned it already. If it still performs to your satisfaction then keep it.
