Micro ATX vs Standard ATX, what is the difference? Do I lose much going to mATX?

So, I'm preparing my build but must choose between a Gygabite H97 full ATX and an Asus mATX. I like the Asus motherboard more, but it's of course mATX, should that be considered a con? The case is going to be a mid ATX btw.

Asus Mobo:

Gygabite Mobo:

Part of why I want the Asus is because it says it supports Xeon CPUs, while I can't find the list of support CPUs for the Gygabite. Also the Gygabite supports a max of 450g for coolers. The Asus doesn't seem to say what max it supports... So confused.

Thank you for your time.

the only difference between atx and micro atx is the length of the board. depending on what board you compare you will ether loose a pci-x16 slot of pci slot just because they cant fit anymore on the board. other then that they are the same.

So there is no loss going mATX then? What are pci-x16 slots? GPUs use PCIe-x16 slots, right?

I ended up going with a Z97 ATX. Thanks for the help!
