Hey guys,
At the moment I'm using samsung syncmaster 2333hd (1920x1080p), which is really poor display.
I've been thinking about
AOC 24" G2460PQU, 144Hz, 1ms, 1920 x 1080, Pivot, HDMI/DP/DVI/VGA and using my samsung as secondary display

The problem is that i play FPS games as well as RPGs like skyrim and i really enjoy good ips displays. I use my computer for watching netflix also, so should I just get a good IPS display @60hz or get for example AOC's display i mentioned? So is the difference between 60hz and 144hz (/120hz) so big? I'm used to my old display so 60hz is fine, though in FPS games I feel I'm wasting my good computer with 60hz in fps games.

I'd like to hear some opinions and examples of screens :)

Yes your setup will easily go 60+ fps in most to any game. So I suggest going with the AOC 144hz. Trust me, it makes a huge difference in gaming. IPS Panels aren't necessary and won't actually help you when gaming in FPS. If you like MMO RPGs or the sorts, then perhaps you may want an IPS Panel. Color correction is also a benefit with IPS Panels, however, since I believe your just gaming and not doing video editing/photo editing, it wont matter for you.

Definitely PSU upgrade first. Then upgrade the mobo. I love the I7 2600K and the non-k is just as good. In my opinion, the 2600 easily outperforms most current-gen cpus. However, I will be really hard to find a mobo that still supports your CPU.

Good Luck!

First of all, what is your computer's specs. Second, no DO NOT get and IPS panel for gaming. It just isn't fast enough. Usually IPS panels have a GTG time of 30 ms or more. TN panels have only about 1 MS. Also, a 144 hz monitor is great, faster refresh rate = better gaming. However, you'll only notice the difference if your rig can push out more than 60 FPS on games.

Specs:
XFX r9 290 be, overclocked
i7-2600 (not k) @4,2ghz
asus p8p67le
kingston hyperx 1600mhz 2x4gb
PSU is chieftec 750w, but getting a new one soon
128gb ssd and 1tb

I remember someone said that IPS panels are fine in gaming @60hz and look much better. But i've been thinkin about getting that AOC's 144hz TN panel

(Kinda off topic, but which components should i upgrade first; cpu, mobo and ram? :D )
